The Presbyterian Day School offers a safe, positive, Christian environment promoted within our state-licensed Childcare facility. We offer quality and developmentally appropriate programs for toddlers through Pre-K. PDS is also a 3-STAR rated program under Tennessee’s Report Card and Rated License System.

A 40 year tradition of quality care guides us as we care for the children and families we are blessed to serve. 

 
 
 

Registration will open to the public March 1st, 2024.

For the 2024-2025 school year, PDS will be offering the following programs

:

  • WE WILL OPEN A 1-YEAR-OLD CLASS IN AUGUST. This would be Monday/Wednesday OR Tuesday/Thursday Must be 1 year old by August 15, 2024. If you are interested, please let us know.

  • 2-year-old Class Must be 2 years old by August 15, 2024 Monday-Wednesday-Friday OR Tuesday-Thursday

  • 3-year-old preschool Must be 3 years old by August 15, 2024 Monday-Wednesday-Friday OR Tuesday-Thursday

  • PreK4 Must be 4 years old by August 15, 2024 Monday-Wednesday-Friday

  • PreK5 Must be 4 years old by August 15, 2024 Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday

1-year-old class.

WE WILL OPEN A 1-YEAR-OLD CLASS IN AUGUST and provide teaching, socialization and independence while implementing the standards established by the State of Tennessee for Toddlers. Children will need to be 1 by August 15, 2024. This would be Monday/Wednesday OR Tuesday/Thursday

Two’s

The 2-year-old program will be geared toward preparing for the 3-year-old room. The children will need to be 2 by August 15, 2024 The teaching will be developmentally appropriate while meeting the standards set by the State of Tennessee. The Two’s program includes arts and crafts, outdoor play, music, sharing, and language. Socialization skills will be refined to help them become more cooperative in groups. Center activities include math, science, music, dramatic play, reading, blocks, art and manipulatives. Potty training will begin at home at this age, and we will reinforce your training.

Mon/Wed/Fri OR Tues/Thurs

Three’s

The Three’s program features structured and unstructured activities to provide opportunity for independence, as well as participating in teacher directed activities. Center-based classrooms provide activities that include math, science, music, dramatic play, reading, blocks, art and manipulatives. Monthly subjects of study are seasonal and instructional. Handwriting Without Tears is followed to teach letters and handwriting. Numbers, shapes, and colors are incorporated as well. Developmentally appropriate practices are used to teach and instruct. Children learn through play and experimentation.

Mon/Wed/Fri OR Tues/Thurs

All children must be potty trained, wearing underwear (not pull-ups), and able to attend to their individual bathroom needs.

3-year olds must be 3 by August 15, 2024

PRE-K

We have 2 PreK class rooms. All lesson plans are guided by our school’s academic thematic curriculum and correlated with the Tennessee Early Learning Developmental Standards (TN-ELDS). Center-based classrooms provide activities that include math, science, music, dramatic play, reading, blocks, art and manipulatives. Handwriting Without Tears is used to reinforce the teachings of letters, letter sounds, & handwriting. Activities for each center are planned to correspond to the theme.

PreK4 meets Mon, Wed, Fri and must be 4 by August 15, 2024. This class is usually geared toward children with summer birthdays or those that might need an extra year before entering kindergarten.

PreK5 meets Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs. with the possibility of Friday. This group must be 4 by August 15, 2024. This class is for children that are most definitely enrolling in kindergarten in August 2025.
