Welcome

Welcome to Presbyterian Day School!

At PDS, we believe childhood should be filled with joy, discovery, and a strong foundation of faith. That’s why we’ve created a safe, loving, and Christian environment where little ones can grow, learn, and thrive.

As a state-licensed childcare center, we offer developmentally appropriate programs for toddlers through Pre-K—designed to nurture curiosity, build confidence, and support each child’s unique journey.

We’re proud to be a 3-STAR rated program through Tennessee’s Report Card and Rated License System, reflecting our dedication to quality care and early education.

With over 60 years of experience, our tradition of love and learning continues to guide everything we do. We consider it a blessing to partner with families like yours as we help children take their first steps toward a bright future.

We’d love to welcome you into our PDS family!

Curious about what makes our PDS programs special? Take a peek below—we can’t wait to share with you!

1-year-old class.

Our Toddler Program is designed to provide a safe, loving environment where children can explore the world around them while developing key social, emotional, cognitive, and physical skills. As toddlers begin to experience God’s love, we focus on helping them develop foundational friendships and grow in their faith.

These classes are offered two days a week:

Monday/Wednesday OR Tuesday/Thursday

Toddlers must be 12 months by August 15, 2025

Two’s

Our 2-Year-Old Program provides a nurturing, faith-centered environment where children are encouraged to explore, play, and grow in God’s love. We focus on building strong friendships, supporting early development, and preparing children for the next stage in their educational journey.

These classes are offered twice a week:

Monday/Wednesday/Friday OR Tuesday/Thursday

2-year olds must be 2 by August 15,2025

Three’s

Our Threes Program at PDS offers a warm, faith-filled environment where children grow spiritually, socially, and academically. Guided by the Tennessee Early Learning Developmental Standards (TN-ELDS), our play-based curriculum encourages curiosity, creativity, and connection. Children build social-emotional skills through play and friendship, while spiritual development is nurtured through Bible stories, prayer, and music. Early literacy and math concepts are introduced through stories, counting, and hands-on exploration. Daily activities also support fine and gross motor development through art, movement, and outdoor play. Our dedicated teachers nurture each child’s unique learning journey, laying a strong foundation for Pre-K and beyond.

These classes are offered twice a week:

Monday/Wednesday/Friday OR Tuesday/Thursday

All children must be potty trained, wearing underwear (not pull-ups), and able to attend to their individual bathroom needs.

3-year olds must be 3 by August 15, 2025

PRE-K

PDS offers two Pre-K classrooms—PK4 and PK5—both designed to meet the same developmental goals.

At PDS, our two Pre-K classrooms offer a rich, engaging environment designed to prepare children for kindergarten and beyond. All lesson plans follow our school’s academic thematic curriculum and align with the Tennessee Early Learning Developmental Standards (TN-ELDS), ensuring developmentally appropriate learning across all domains. Our center-based classrooms feature hands-on activities in math, science, reading, music, dramatic play, blocks, art, and manipulatives—each thoughtfully planned to support the weekly theme. The Handwriting Without Tears program reinforces letter recognition, phonemic awareness, and early handwriting skills in a fun, accessible way. Through purposeful play and guided instruction, children grow academically, socially, and spiritually as they build the confidence and curiosity needed for future learning.
